Top O' The Ridge

We had a blast during our vacation! Your home is wonderful and we absolutely enjoyed our stay. The views are just spectacular, and being able to walk down just a few steps and be on the pond is awesome.   Thank you also very much for the welcome basket and your own wine! We've not yet opened the bottle, as we want to keep it for a special moment to remember our Acadia vacation - maybe when we finished all the photos and videos and do a family video night :)   Thanks also for all your help, suggestions and a very smooth transaction and communication. Thank you for sharing your place with us for the last 2 wks.  The location was awesome and the layout was perfect for us with the in-laws having their own area to retreat to when they needed a reprieve from the 2 1/2 y.o.!!  Your place was very well equipped and I can't think of any improvements which I would suggest.  I had an electric motor and portable depth finder hooked onto the canoe and covered a lot of area around the house in search of fish.  I caught a number of small bass and some perch from the canoe.  My biggest fish was caught from shore on the opposite side of the pond from the Long Pond trail in the pouring rain (20inch 3lb smallmouth).  No landlocked salmon or trout to report unfortunately.  We had a few nights of rain and enjoyed your expansive movie library!  The supplies you had available were awesome and very inclusive.  We come to Maine every other year and hope your place is available when we return in 2013!

We so enjoyed the beauty of the setting at Top O' the Ridge, that we were riveted to that spot. We didn't do as much driving around the island as in other years, because "home" was so lovely. It was lovely weather, and so warm that we ate breakfast and lunch on the deck. On the second-to-the-last day, it rained and the wind drummed the rain on the roof and against the window panes, and I was in heaven.....I sat in the chair by the bay window next to the fireplace, and read my novel and looked out upon the lake, and watched the leaves spin down and get caught in the pine trees beneath. (The house was warm and snug and draft-free). I saw a young buck in the woods of the lane. And one afternoon, in a densely shaded stretch of the lane, there was a bat flying up and down the road, eating his lunch. I have never seen them fly during the day, and was fascinated!

Thank you for a wonderful haven, even if only for a little bit. I find myself wondering what the lake looks like today.....We hope to be back again.

Our experience at Top O’ The Ridge was exceptional!  The view is outstanding and even better in person than on the internet.  The house is bright, spacious, clean and full of helpful amenities, including everything you need to cook delicious meals and a wonderful DVD collection.  The swim dock makes playing on the lake easy whether swimming or by canoe.  We had a great time with our kids and plan on going back next year!

We had a wonderful week in Maine, and we loved the house. What a view! I must have taken several dozen shots - different times of day, sun, fog, clouds. Spectacular -- we hated to leave. . . . The kitchen was extremely well outfitted – you have an amazing array of utensils! . . . There were many nice touches that were much appreciated: the labeling of the light switches, the postcards, the bottle of wine(thanks!), the gift basket filled with toiletries, all the DVDs, the detailed instructions (especially for all things technological), the abundance of trash bags and toilet paper. . .  The week was filled with hiking, sailing, kayaking, and great food. We've never been big television watchers on vacation, but then, we rarely have systems like yours when we're on the island. We had a great time watching the World Cup final and a couple of after-dinner movies. Thank you for making this such a great experience -

As I sit here on your deck with my cup of coffee, enjoying this amazing view, I thought I should take a moment to thank you. Our family has been enjoying, your home, the canoe, lake-front and movie collection!  . . . The weather was close to perfect all week, we did so many fun things with our family. I just loved sitting out on the deck with my coffee in the morning looking for eagles and waiting for the call of the Loons. The lake is beautiful and swimming was so much fun. We have never stayed at a rental property that was as considerate as you/yours was . . . We will treasure our fond memories of Top O' The Ridge and MDI for many years to come. Thanks so much!

This house provided an absolutely perfect Acadia vacation experience.  Perched right on the water, we woke up each morning to the Million Dollar view. Even after 7 days we were still in awe of the light reflecting on the water and the absolute calm and tranquility of this spot, it's easy to believe you're the only people on this lake, no other boats, no noise whatsoever! The house is as perfect as the view, fully stocked with absolutely EVERYTHING you'll need for a perfect vacation, including a canoe.  We loved our stay and plan to return next year!
